Steve Rozema was born in Ogden, Utah, but most of his growing up was done in Kearney, Nebraska. He became involved in his local church at a very early age. Throughout high school he sang in his church choir, counseled at Manna Resort Christian Camp, and coordinated recreational activities for all ages at his church’s Vacation Bible School. After graduating high school, Steve attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for a Jazz Studies degree emphasizing in trumpet. During this time, he served as Associate Pastor for a local college ministry and as Associate Youth Pastor at The Ridge Church, located in northwest Greensboro. Following his first year at UNCG, Steve played drums in an indie rock band called (hey)Sandy, and toured the western United States for two weeks. After returning, he began to help lead worship at The Ridge and at his college ministry. Currently, he is the Associate Pastor of 24/7 Christian Church, a church plant located in central Greensboro, and serves in a variety of contexts at another church plant, Awaken City Church. After graduating from UNCG in August 2010, he plans on attending Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Raleigh, NC to pursue a Master of Divinity while he continues to serve at 24/7 and Awaken City. Most of Steve’s free time is spent with friends, reading books and comics, watching the television shows Heroes and Lost, and playing video games.
